First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether playing short, personalized audio messages to elderly patients after hip fracture surgery can help prevent confusion (delirium). About 30 participants aged 60 and older will listen to 2-minute recordings three times daily for three days. Researchers will check if this approach is practical for busy hospital wards and whether it shows promise in reducing post-surgery confusion.
