First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at 109 people in Virginia with a chronic lung infection caused by nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). Researchers will use DNA sequencing to tell if a repeat infection is a relapse of the original germ or a new infection from the environment. The goal is to better understand why these infections return and how to predict which treatments work best.
