New pain drug challenges morphine in major surgery trial
NCT ID NCT05324358
Summary
This study tested whether a new pain medication called NTM-001 works better than a placebo (inactive treatment) for pain relief after bunion surgery. The trial involved 341 adults who had recent foot surgery and compared NTM-001 against both a placebo and morphine to see how well it controls pain over 24 hours. Researchers measured pain levels and monitored for side effects to determine if this new option could provide effective pain relief with a good safety profile.
