Can you take ibuprofen with knee arthritis shots? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT06911359

Summary

This study is testing whether taking common over-the-counter pain pills (like ibuprofen) affects how well a series of sugar-water injections works for knee osteoarthritis. It involves about 68 military healthcare patients aged 45-75 with moderate knee arthritis pain. Participants will receive three knee injections and will be randomly assigned to take either ibuprofen or a placebo pill to see which combination works better for pain and function.
