Painkiller dilemma: can moms with dangerous high blood pressure get safe relief?

NCT ID NCT03978767

Summary

This study checked if common painkillers like ibuprofen make high blood pressure worse in women recovering from severe preeclampsia after childbirth. Researchers compared two pain relief approaches for 287 women—one including ibuprofen and one without it—to see which better controlled blood pressure while managing pain. The goal was to find safer ways to reduce opioid use without risking mothers' health during postpartum recovery.
