Could a drug boost brain stimulation for stubborn depression?

NCT ID NCT07227103

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding the drug NRX-101 to transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) helps people with treatment-resistant depression more than TMS alone. About 120 adults will receive either NRX-101 or a placebo alongside TMS, and researchers will measure changes in depression and suicidal thoughts after six weeks. The goal is to see if the combination leads to higher response and remission rates.
