Could a vitamin boost fix faulty blood vessels?
NCT ID NCT06280482
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether a dietary supplement called nicotinamide riboside (NR) can help people with a rare genetic condition called Smooth Muscle Dysfunction Syndrome (SMDS). The condition causes problems with blood vessels in the brain and body. Researchers will give NR to 15 patients to see if it is safe and if it improves blood vessel health, brain blood flow, and symptoms like headaches and dizziness.
