First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special vacuum dressing (NPWT) can prevent surgical site infections in diabetic patients after emergency abdominal surgery. About 110 high-risk adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the NPWT dressing or standard care. The main goal is to see if the dressing reduces infection rates and is cost-effective.
