New ultrasound gadget aims to spot hidden heart holes without surgery

Summary

This study tests a new battery-powered ultrasound device that is placed on the chest to detect a right-to-left shunt in the heart, such as a PFO. It is non-invasive and will be compared to the standard test (TEE) to see how accurate it is. The study involves 75 people who are already scheduled for a TEE with bubble study.
