NCT ID NCT07089420
First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study measured levels of calprotectin, a protein linked to gut inflammation, in stool samples from 121 healthy adults. The goal was to confirm what is considered a normal range, helping doctors better distinguish between inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's or colitis) and non-inflammatory conditions like irritable bowel syndrome. Participants simply provided one stool sample at home using a mail-in kit. No treatments or procedures were involved.
