First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tested whether a daily supplement called nicotinamide riboside (a form of vitamin B3) can slow the progression of early Parkinson's disease. Over 400 people with early-stage Parkinson's took either the supplement or a placebo for one year. Researchers measured changes in movement and non-movement symptoms to see if the supplement helped preserve function.
