Can shoulder surgery pain be managed without opioids?
NCT ID NCT05488847
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares two pain management plans after shoulder replacement surgery: one using only nonopioid medications and another that also includes a standard opioid prescription. About 83 adults having shoulder replacement will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal is to see if the nonopioid plan controls pain just as well, which could help reduce reliance on opioids.
