Zapping a nerve to calm brain inflammation after injury

NCT ID NCT07384845

Summary

This study is testing whether a safe, noninvasive device can help people who have just suffered a serious brain injury. The device gently stimulates a nerve in the ear, which researchers hope will reduce harmful brain swelling and inflammation. They will measure changes in blood and spinal fluid markers in 60 adult patients to see if the treatment helps protect the brain and improve recovery.
