Scoping out weight loss: doctors test burning stomach lining
NCT ID NCT05587491
Summary
This study tested a new, non-surgical procedure for weight loss called Gastric Mucosal Ablation (GMA). Doctors used a special tool to carefully remove the inner lining of the stomach in 15 people with obesity, thinking it might affect hunger hormones. The main goal was to check if the procedure was safe and to see how much weight participants lost over six months after their final treatment.
