Back surgery pain relief without heavy opioids?
NCT ID NCT06662318
Summary
This study tested whether specific non-opioid injections given around surgery time could effectively reduce pain after elective lower back (lumbar) surgery. It involved 75 patients who had surgery for a herniated disc, comparing pain levels to see if the approach could lessen the need for traditional opioid painkillers and their side effects like nausea. The goal was to find safer pain management strategies to help patients recover more comfortably.
