New pill could slash opioid use after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT07357376

Summary

This study is testing if a new non-opioid pain medicine called suzetrigine can effectively manage pain and reduce the need for opioid painkillers after total knee replacement surgery. Researchers will compare suzetrigine to a placebo in 210 adults to see if it lowers opioid use and improves recovery. Participants will take the study pill for 14 days after surgery while reporting their pain and attending follow-up visits.
