Mind-Reading sleeve lets paralyzed hands grasp again

NCT ID NCT06087445

Summary

This study is testing a special sleeve worn on the forearm that helps people with paralysis in all four limbs (tetraplegia) regain control of their hand grasp. The sleeve detects tiny muscle signals when a person tries to move their hand, then uses gentle electrical stimulation to make the hand muscles actually perform the intended movement. Twelve participants will use the sleeve during rehabilitation sessions three times a week for twelve weeks to see if it safely helps them perform daily tasks like picking up objects.
