Zapping nerves to breathe easier: new hope for COPD patients?
NCT ID NCT06985628
First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This small study tested whether non-invasive nerve stimulation (using mild electrical pulses on the skin) could help relieve shortness of breath in people with severe COPD. Eight participants each tried both active stimulation and a sham (fake) treatment to see if the approach was feasible. The goal was not to prove effectiveness, but to see if a larger trial could be done.
