New combo therapy aims to quiet jaw pain without drugs
NCT ID NCT06802445
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gentle, non-invasive nerve stimulation device, combined with simple self-care exercises, can reduce jaw and neck pain in people with temporomandibular disorder (TMD). About 48 adults with muscle-related TMD will receive either the real treatment or a placebo version three times a week for 30 minutes. Researchers will measure pain, jaw movement, and muscle function to see if the combination works better than self-care alone.
