Could controlled breathing heal damaged nerves?

NCT ID NCT05848778

Summary

This study is testing a new, non-invasive breathing treatment to see if it can improve nerve healing and hand function in people with severe carpal tunnel syndrome. The treatment involves brief cycles of slightly reduced oxygen, similar to methods being explored for spinal cord injury. Researchers will compare this approach in 80 patients undergoing surgery to see if it leads to better nerve repair and hand recovery than surgery alone.
