New device offers safer way to monitor critically ill COPD Patients' hearts

NCT ID NCT07208578

Summary

This study aims to see if a non-invasive device that uses stickers on the chest (the ICON® monitor) is a reliable and useful tool for tracking heart function in COPD patients who are critically ill in the intensive care unit. Researchers will observe 96 patients to see how well the device's readings match up with the patient's condition and how different breathing support methods affect the heart. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors manage these patients without needing riskier, invasive procedures.
