New 'No-Touch' heart bypass could mean fewer complications

NCT ID NCT07172620

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study compares two types of heart bypass surgery: a newer, less invasive method that uses small chest incisions and avoids touching the aorta, versus the standard open-chest approach. About 260 people with coronary artery disease will take part. The main goal is to see if the new technique keeps the bypass grafts open just as well as the traditional method, while also being safer.
