New attack on rare nerve disease aims to cut harmful steroids

NCT ID NCT07159893

Summary

This study is testing a drug called inectolizumab for people newly diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the nerves and spinal cord (NMOSD). The main goal is to see if the drug can help control the disease while allowing patients to take fewer steroids, which have serious side effects. Researchers will also check if starting this treatment quickly after a disease attack helps improve patients' disability levels.
