New cell therapy aims to mop up hidden colon cancer

NCT ID NCT05040568

Summary

This study tested a new combination treatment for people with colon cancer who had surgery and chemotherapy but still had tiny amounts of cancer left in their blood. The treatment used specially prepared immune cells (CB-NK cells) from donors, given along with the drug cetuximab. The main goal was to see if this combination could clear these hidden cancer cells from the blood and was safe for the 15 patients in this early-phase trial.
