New breathing mask trial aims to save more drowning victims
NCT ID NCT06183827
Summary
This study is testing whether a special breathing mask that provides gentle air pressure (called NIV/CPAP) works better than a standard oxygen mask for people who are struggling to breathe after a drowning incident. Researchers will compare these two approaches in 210 patients across emergency services in France to see which one helps people breathe better and avoid needing a breathing tube. The goal is to find the most effective immediate treatment for this serious condition.
