Could a gas shield doctors from COVID-19?
NCT ID NCT04312243
Summary
This study aimed to see if healthcare workers could be protected from catching COVID-19 by inhaling nitric oxide gas, which has shown antiviral effects against similar viruses. It planned to enroll 470 workers to compare those receiving the gas treatment with those who did not. The trial was terminated early, so its results are incomplete.
