Beetroot juice vs. coffee chill: a heart health showdown

NCT ID NCT06602921

Summary

This small study looked at whether taking dietary nitrate (like from beetroot juice) could help protect the heart and blood vessels from the temporary strain caused by drinking caffeine and being in the cold. Researchers tested 24 healthy young adults to see if nitrate supplements improved various measures of heart and blood vessel function under these common stressors. The goal was to gather knowledge about how simple dietary changes might help people cope with everyday conditions that challenge the heart.
