First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested a single dose of nirsevimab, an antibody, to prevent severe RSV lung infections in healthy infants born at 29 weeks or later. About 800 babies in China received either the antibody or a placebo and were monitored for 150 days. The goal was to see if nirsevimab safely reduces doctor visits and hospital stays caused by RSV.
