Gentle light sensor could give doctors early warning for preemie kidney injury

NCT ID NCT07222722

Summary

This study is testing if a non-invasive sensor that uses near-infrared light can detect early signs of kidney injury in very premature babies. Researchers will monitor 100 infants born before 30 weeks of pregnancy for their first week of life. The goal is to see if changes in kidney oxygen levels measured by the sensor can predict kidney problems before standard tests, allowing for earlier treatment.
