Summary

This study tested a device that uses near-infrared light to help surgeons quickly locate parathyroid glands during surgery for overactive parathyroid glands. The goal was to see if this tool could reduce the number of tissue samples sent to the lab and lower the chance of needing a second surgery. 79 adults with primary hyperparathyroidism took part. The approach aims to make surgery faster, cheaper, and more accurate.
