Simple nipple stimulation may shorten labor for induced births
NCT ID NCT07317674
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding nipple stimulation to a standard balloon catheter can help ripen the cervix and shorten the time from induction to delivery. About 100 pregnant women at term with an unfavorable cervix will be randomly assigned to receive either the balloon plus nipple stimulation or the balloon alone. The goal is to see if this simple, natural method can improve outcomes and reduce the need for additional interventions.
