NCT ID NCT06582706

First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a common vitamin (niacin, or vitamin B3) can get into the brain fluid of people with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's. Researchers will give 30 volunteers a single 500 mg dose of extended-release niacin and measure its levels in blood and spinal fluid. The goal is not to treat the disease yet, but to see if the drug reaches its target in the brain and to check for side effects.
