New drug combo shows promise for rare nerve cancer in NF1 patients

NCT ID NCT06693284

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase trial tests a 28-day course of two oral drugs (mirdametinib and vorinostat) in people aged 12+ with a rare, aggressive nerve tumor linked to NF1. The goal is to see if the combination is safe and can shrink or change the tumor before standard treatment (radiation and surgery). Only 8 participants will be enrolled, and they will have biopsies and scans before and after the drug course.
