Soothing sounds: ney music may ease pain and anxiety after back surgery
NCT ID NCT07171008
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether listening to ney music, a traditional Turkish wind instrument, can help people who have had lumbar disc surgery feel less pain and anxiety, sleep better, and have a better quality of life. About 60 adults will be split into two groups: one group will listen to 15 minutes of ney music before surgery, 3 hours after, and the next morning, while the other group gets standard care. Researchers will measure pain, anxiety, sleep, and vital signs at the same times in both groups.
