First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether gentle abdominal massage can help prevent jaundice (yellowing of the skin) in healthy newborns. Researchers at UC Davis will enroll 30 babies to see if parents find the massage easy to do and if it helps lower bilirubin levels. The goal is to find a simple, drug-free way to reduce the need for phototherapy.
