Gentle touch for newborns: can a simple massage prevent jaundice?
NCT ID NCT05282394
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether teaching parents to give their newborn babies a gentle abdominal massage can help prevent jaundice. Jaundice is common in newborns and is caused by a buildup of bilirubin. The idea is that massage might help babies pass stool more quickly, which helps remove bilirubin from their bodies. The study is mainly checking if parents find the massage easy and acceptable to do.
