New Light-Based monitor could spot brain oxygen trouble in newborns

Summary
This study is testing a new, non-invasive device that uses light to measure oxygen levels in the brains of newborn babies immediately after birth. The goal is to see if this method can provide more detailed information than current standard monitoring, especially for premature babies at risk of brain injury. About 40 full-term and preterm newborns will be observed during their first moments of life.
