Trial tests safer blood pressure drug for critically ill newborns

NCT ID NCT07322133

Summary

This study is comparing two common blood pressure medications, dopamine and norepinephrine, in newborns with a serious condition that causes low blood pressure and breathing failure. The goal is to see which drug better stabilizes blood pressure without potentially worsening the baby's lung problems. The trial will enroll 30 late preterm and full-term newborns who need this type of support in the intensive care unit.
