New Heart-Zapping tech aims to stop deadly rhythms deeper and safer

NCT ID NCT06816368

Summary

This study is testing a new medical device that combines two types of energy to treat a dangerous, fast heart rhythm called ventricular tachycardia (VT). The goal is to see if using pulsed field energy together with standard radiofrequency energy can create deeper, more effective scars in heart tissue to stop the abnormal rhythm, potentially making the procedure safer and more successful. The study will enroll about 30 patients with VT who have an implanted defibrillator and will follow them for 6 months after the procedure.
