Could a simple scan replace painful liver biopsies?

NCT ID NCT07373769

Summary

This study is testing a new type of ultrasound scan to see if it can accurately detect and measure the severity of fatty liver disease. Researchers will compare the new ultrasound method against current standard tests like MRI and a device called FibroScan in 145 volunteers, including healthy people and those with liver disease. The goal is to create a cheaper, more accessible, and less invasive way to monitor liver health and catch problems early.
