Breakthrough trial aims to save lives from deadly Alcohol-Related liver disease

NCT ID NCT06956482

Summary

This study is testing whether extending standard steroid treatment or adding an antioxidant drug called N-acetylcysteine can improve outcomes for people with severe alcoholic hepatitis. Researchers will enroll 477 adults with this serious liver condition to see if these approaches help more patients survive with better liver function after 90 days. The goal is to find better treatments since current options don't work well for everyone.
