New Scan-and-Blood-Test score aims to spot hidden trauma damage faster

NCT ID NCT07286617

Summary

This study aims to create and test a new scoring system called the STAR score. It combines a quick bedside ultrasound scan with simple blood tests to help doctors predict if an adult patient with blunt abdominal trauma (like from a car crash or fall) has serious internal injuries. The goal is to see if this new method is faster and more accurate than current standard assessments for identifying patients who need urgent care.
