Summary
This study tested a new 20-question form designed to help doctors identify patients with somatic symptom disorder. This condition involves distressing physical symptoms (like pain or fatigue) that are not fully explained by another medical condition and are often linked to anxiety or depression. Researchers gave the questionnaire to over 1,800 hospital outpatients to see if it could accurately detect the disorder and track treatment progress.
