Faster test aims to end guesswork for chest infections

NCT ID NCT06070688

Summary

This study is testing if a new blood test helps doctors in the emergency room quickly tell if a respiratory infection is caused by bacteria or a virus. The goal is to see if having this information early leads to better decisions about antibiotics, hospital stays, and other tests, which could improve care and lower costs. The study will compare patients who get the new test results with those who receive standard care.
