Breakthrough test could end dangerous misdiagnosis of brain disease

NCT ID NCT07166744

Summary

This study aims to develop a better test to tell the difference between two common brain diseases: Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer's. Researchers will test a new method that looks for a specific, harmful protein in spinal fluid from 286 people who already show signs of one of these conditions. The goal is to create a more reliable diagnostic tool to prevent patients from receiving incorrect and potentially harmful treatments.
