Could a simpler test pinpoint the cause of unquenchable thirst?
NCT ID NCT06542198
Summary
This study tested whether a substance called mannitol could help doctors tell apart two different causes of a condition where people experience extreme thirst and produce large amounts of urine. Researchers compared how mannitol affected a blood marker in healthy adults and in patients with the disorder. The goal was to see if this could become a safer, more comfortable alternative to the current standard diagnostic test.
