Researchers hunt for hidden heart killer with simple pacing test
NCT ID NCT06188689
Summary
This study aims to develop a new clinical test to diagnose Calcium Release Deficiency Syndrome (CRDS), a rare genetic heart condition that increases the risk of sudden cardiac death. Currently, diagnosing CRDS requires complex lab tests that are not widely available. Researchers will enroll 400 participants, including people with CRDS and similar conditions, to see if measuring the heart's electrical response after a brief, paced increase in heart rate can accurately identify the disease.
