AI device challenges traditional exam for spotting hidden birth injuries

NCT ID NCT07474012

Summary

This study aims to see if a new AI-assisted device is better than the standard finger exam at finding hidden tears in the anal muscles after a woman's first vaginal birth. Researchers will test both methods on 110 first-time mothers shortly after delivery. An ultrasound scan done within 12 weeks will be used as the final check to see which method was more accurate.
