Breakthrough test could revolutionize TB screening

NCT ID NCT06728930

Summary

This study is evaluating a new blood test designed to detect the bacteria that cause dormant tuberculosis (TB) infection. Current tests can't tell if someone has been cured after treatment or identify which infected people will actually get sick. Researchers will test 250 people, with and without dormant TB, to see if this new method accurately finds the bacteria in the blood, which could lead to a much better diagnostic tool.
