Breakthrough blood test could spot hidden TB in kids

NCT ID NCT06113861

Summary

This study aims to evaluate a new blood test designed to improve the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) in children. It will enroll 1,220 children in Bolivia who have symptoms of respiratory illness and are suspected of having TB. The test looks for tiny pieces of TB bacteria in the blood, which could help doctors diagnose the disease faster and more accurately, especially in young children where current tests often fail.
